- Previously unreleased tracks abound on the Swedish duo's first LP.
Skudge will release their first album, Phantom, next month.
Though they lurked in obscurity just over a year ago, Skudge are by now a favorite among fans of deeper house and techno, especially DJs. They first made a splash with their track "Convolution," whose throbbing beat and ghostly diva hook made it an enduring club hit for much of last year. Since then Skudge have put out eight more records, played live at clubs and festivals around Europe, and been remixed by a diverse cast of artists that includes Marcel Fengler, Aardvarck and 2562.
Aside from the title track, Phantom features all new productions from Skudge, and apparently sticks to their style of dusty techno with a bit of house soul (at least if the samples are anything to go by). As with all but one of their releases so far, it will come out through their own Skudge Records.
