- A selection featuring some of the Detroit label's signature tunes will see release in February.
Omar-S's FXHE Records will celebrate ten years with a mix CD, due out next month.
The 16-track FXHE 10 Year Mix Compilation sees Alex O. Smith weave together some of his label's best-known tunes, including plenty of his own tracks—"The White Castle Song," "S.E.X" and "Here's Your Trance Now Dance" among them—alongside records from the likes of Jason Fine, Luke Hess, DJ Blend, Aaron "Fit" Siegel and Gunnar Wendel, AKA Kassem Mosse. It arrives roughly a year on from his most recent album, Thank You For Letting Me Be Myself.
In a Q&A with Juno Plus, Omar-S describes the mix as an opportunity for fans to get their hands on "some shit they might have slept on." He also claims he's been listening to Billie Piper, suggests he doesn't know what a podcast is, and offers a fierce defence of his label's independence from record stores and distributors: "When a order is fucked up, Omar-S fucked up the order," he says. "But when the order is good, Alex O. Smith shipped it right!"
