- The Dutch producer and DJ will inaugurate his own label in June.
Delta Funktionen has unveiled details of his new label, Radio Matrix.
Dutchman Niels Luinenberg first appeared back in 2008 with releases for Delsin and its subsidiary Ann Aimee, a relationship he's kept strong throughout his career. His productions were noted not only for their variety but for their reverence towards classic Detroit sounds—techno, electro and house—while his DJ sets were similarly lauded for their unpredictability. (There's a reason we titled our feature with him "resisting routines.")
Aside from two drops on Field Records, Radio Matrix marks the first time Luinenberg will have released solo on a label outside the Delsin family. The label, named for a gear shop in his hometown of Leeuwarden, will highlight talent from that same region, and according to an interview with Juno Plus, future releases will come from artists like Area Forty One and Bodem, who will have the second release on the label. The first is a four tracker from the founder himself, D-Wave Two.1, which you can hear clips of below.
