A 50 Weapons showcase and Scuba back-to-back with Jimmy Edgar make up other highlights for the Montreal winter festival.
Igloofest will start its tenth year in Montreal on January 14th.
The festival has become a part of the Montreal winter calendar, and it has a bit of a strange MO: an outdoor festival happening at one of the coldest times in the coldest cities in the country, it pits fans against the elements. The lineup is the usual mix of heavy-hitters, with a general emphasis on house and techno, though downtempo master Bonobo will kick off the first day of Igloofest on January 14th. Other highlights include an Ellum Audio showcase with Maceo Plex, a 50 Weapons farewell featuring Modeselektor and Shed, plus Scuba play back-to-back with Jimmy Edgar and an appearance from English vet Dave Clarke. Carl Craig, The Martinez Brothers and Paul Kalkbrenner also hold headlining slots, while Lunice, Brodinski, Swindle, Mr. Oizo and Poirier offer a break from all the 4/4.
As usual, Igloofest will happen at the Quai Jacques-Cartier in Montreal's Old Port. For a full and detailed run-down of each night, check out the listings below.
