- The raucous DJ/producer will unleash his sophomore album in October via Kompakt.
As RA previously reported, Kompakt producer Matias Aguayo will return to the label later this year with a new full-length, entitled Ay Ay Ay.
But now we've got a tracklist and the cover art to prove it. Aguayo has conducted plenty of interviews in advance of the album, and it's become clear that the new album is a huge shift in sound from his previous effort for the imprint. In an exclusive listen at the Kompakt offices last week, we can confirm that while Are You Really Lost was a restrained affair, Ay Ay Ay—as the title might suggest—is a rollicking, organic full-length that takes plenty of influence from his BumBumBox parties, as well as utilizing Aguayo's vocals throughout. As he recently told LA Weekly, "I did a lot with my voice, sometimes like 60 layers of just voice recordings."
