The Brittany-based festival celebrates its thirtieth anniversary with Fever Ray, The Whitest Boy Alive and Mr Oizo.
France's annual Trans Musicales festival will be holding its thirtieth event this year, which runs from December 2-6.
The festival in Rennes, Brittany, has become renowned for unearthing stars on the ascendant, featuring early performances from the likes of Underground Resistance, The Prodigy and Laurent Garnier. Taking place again in various venues ranging from the Liberté to the Parc Expo, the 2009 edition will feature a diverse line-up that runs the gamut all the way from techno to rock. Berlin-based indie-pop trio The Whitest Boy Alive will help to warm things up on the Thursday night, while the real party will kick off on the following evening. Fever Ray are set to showcase their gothic electro-pop, while The Field, Belgian discoteers Aeroplane, and Switch and Diplo's dancehall-flavoured Major Lazer project will all be spread across the three halls of the Parc Expo. However, Saturday night's proceedings belong firmly to the French nationals, with Mr. Oizo, Popof and Danton Eeprom all serving up performances.
