- The reggae innovator's next album is due out next month.
Dub producer Lee 'Scratch' Perry will release his next album, Revelation, this summer on MVD Audio.
Over the course of his more than 60 year career, Perry's ear and technique behind the mixing board has made him one of reggae's undisputed leaders. Early in his career, he produced albums by The Congos, Junior Byles and Bob Marley and the Wailers, working out of his famous Black Ark, a studio he built in his backyard (and later burned down in a fit of rage). Now based in a secluded Swiss mountainside, Perry has spent the past few years working with Steve Marshall. Revelation is the third in his series with the UK-based musician, following The End of an American Dream and Scratch Came, Scratch Saw, Scratch Conquered. The record features an illustrious cast of collaborators, including Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards and former Parliament front man George Clinton.
