- The electronic dub outfit have a new album in the works.
Chicken Lips have announced details for their fourth full-length, Experience Malfunction, due for release this winter.
The new album will be Chicken Lips' first since 2006's Making Faces, their first long player with vocalist Jonny Spencer and Bearfunk artist Stevie Kotey alongside group co-founders (and former Bizarre Inc members) Andrew Meecham and Dean Meredith. In the meantime the band have stayed busy with side projects: all four members put out solo records, and last year the collective launched their new record label, Lipservice, with a 12-inch from their Zeefungk alter-ego. Experience Malfunction shows the band staying true to form with their distinct brand of dub inflected club tracks, sometimes instrumental, sometimes with pop vocals from Spencer. The album's title refers to the unpredictability that comes with using vintage analog gear.
