Luke Slater's next album will come out in October on Ostgut Ton.
Luke Slater will release his next album as Planetary Assault Systems this October on Ostgut Ton, entitled The Messenger.
Slater's techno credentials are hard to match. His first release appeared near the end of the '80s, and over the next two decades he released dozens more under a gaggle of pseudonyms, of which Planetary Assault Systems is arguably the most significant. Slater debuted the project on Peacefrog Records in 1993 and has kept it active ever since, moving to his own label, Mote-Evolver, at the turn of the millennium and later to Ostgut Ton, who put out his 2009 album Temporary Suspension. Much like that record, which Richard Carnes dubbed his "Berghain album," The Messenger is an uncompromising album that's steeped in techno purism.
Berghain will host the release party for The Messenger on October 29th. DJ sets will come from James Ruskin, Norman Nodge and Shifted, and Planetary Assault Systems will play live.
