- The collection features all new tracks from the fledgling Japanese bass imprint.
Japanese bass label Diskotopia will release its first compilation in February.
Diskotopia began in 2005 as a DJ and visual collective in Osaka, spearheaded by DJ Am Rhein and A Taut Line, AKA UK expat Matt Lyne. After moving to Tokyo in 2009, the outfit added DJ and producer BD1982 and began evolving into a label. In the past year they've put out three EPs, two of which feature remixes by UK bass artists such as Ikonika, Optimum and BNJMN.
Diskotopia Volume 1 is by far the label's largest body of work yet. Aside from Starkey's remix of "VHS Nite" by BD1982, it features all new tracks by Diskotopia's core members as well as artists from around the world, including Optimum. It will be available digitally and on CD.
