- Wichita will release the UK duo's fourth full-length in May.
James Ford and Jas Shaw, better known as Simian Mobile Disco, will release their next album, Unpatterns, on May 14th.
The nine-track LP sees them once again jettisoning their usual slew of guest vocalists—the group has worked with Beth Ditto, Jamie Lidell, Gruff Rhys and others in the past—in favour of instrumental tracks and sampled vocals, with no guest singers credited on the album, just as they had done on the techno-leaning Delicacies. A press release claims the band was influenced as much by Blawan and Lone as by older electronic touchstones like Silver Apples and Phuture, and the album shows them replacing their electro-influenced sound with a more house-oriented one.
