- The Detroit DJ will play shows in four cities on the Australia Day weekend.
Andrés will head south to play four dates across the Australia Day weekend later this month.
While Andrés has been an active member of the Detroit hip-hop and house communities since the mid-90s, making his name as a DJ for J-Dilla's Slum Village outfit and working closely with producers like Moodymann and Theo Parrish, 2012 was arguably his most successful year to date. The launch of his own La Vida imprint resulted in the release of two 12-inches including New 4 U, which topped RA's Top 50 tracks of 2012 poll. Now three albums and more than 15 years deep into his career, Andrés will be touring Australia for the first time, beginning with a show at Sugar in Adelaide on January 24th. The following night he heads to Sydney for a Boom Boom gig at Tatlers with local mainstay Simon Caldwell, before flying over to Perth on the 26th to play at Geisha Bar. His final show is in Melbourne on the 27th, the night before the Australia Day holiday, at New Guernica with Andee Frost and Andras Fox in support.
Tickets to the Sydney show can be purchased here on RA.
