- The 20-track LP will see release through Systematic Recordings in June.
Robert Babicz will release his seventh album, The Owl And The Butterfly, on June 22nd.
The album will be Babicz's third full-length for Systematic Recordings in six years, completing the final chapter in a trilogy. As the title suggests, the Polish-born producer took inspiration from the natural world, spending two hours a day walking in the Königs forest near his home in Cologne.
The LP alternates between fully-fledged tracks and shorter, beatless interludes, labelled as 'dream sequences.' As a result, the project takes on an ethereal quality, contrasted against the various shades of "Babiczstyle" house, techno and electronica on display. Two vocalists make an appearance: Russian singer Ange on "Crazy", and Karen Vogt on "Flow." Also included is a re-work of "Sonntag," which was first issued on Kompakt in 2005 and will be released as the album's first single, alongside remixes from Rodriguez Jr., KiNK and Pezzner.
