- Dominic Stanton has dropped a collection of obscurities recorded under his late 90s alias.
Dominic Stanton (AKA Domu) has self-released a collection of unreleased and rare material from his Sonar Circle project.
Sonar Circle was started in the late 90s by Stanton and musical partner Jaimie Norman. Together they made tracks influenced by jungle and drum & bass, with Stanton's signature melodic touch intact. A string of singles and the highly-regarded 1999 album Radius on Reinforced Records was all they put out between 1997 and 2003, and they've been relatively quiet since. Stanton's had a number of other projects; a prolific artist, he's probably best known for his broken beat music as Domu. He's also recorded as part of Kudu, Blue Monkeys and The Legends Of The Underground, plus many other solo and group pseudonyms.
Unreleased And Remastered features a handful of new Solar Circle tracks, along with a series of remastered tunes that were first released in 2007 as part of a different rarities collection on defunct label TrebleO. There are also two new songs produced as Sonar's Ghost, Stanton's new collaboration with the Ghosts. You can grab the album over at his new BandCamp page.
The BandCamp website also promises more material from Stanton in the future.
