- Cómeme will release the Russian-in-Berlin artist's debut full-length in June.
Philipp Gorbachev will drop his first LP on June 2nd.
The Russian-born producer moved from Moscow to Berlin a few years ago for political reasons, as well as a desire to join Matias Aguayo's Cómeme crew and label—which will release Silver Album. Apparently inspired more by "Russian avant-garde and Moscow's Conceptualist movement" than dance music proper, Silver Album is a collection of nine songs recorded live, each telling a "fable" using Russian lyrics. The record features collaborations with Battles drummer John Stanier, Butthole Surfer Paul Leary, Daniel Maloso and Tobias Freund, as well as general co-production and guidance from Aguayo himself. The first single, "Arrest Me," is a "dedication to the imprisoned people around the world," and you can stream a video for it below.
