- Friends Of Friends will release the former Sepalcure member's first solo full-length in May.
Braille's first LP, Mute Swan, will land on May 5th.
New York's Praveen Sharma is probably best known for his time in Sepalcure, where he split production duties with Machinedrum. He's been releasing on the side as Braille since 2011, with EPs on Rush Hour, Hot Flush and Glass Table, but when Sepalcure went quiet in 2013, so did Sharma's project. Now he's making a bit of a comeback: first there was Rights, a collaboration with Seafloor which resulted in a seven-track EP on Infinite Machine. And then he announced his return as Braille, first with the Everyone's Crazy EP and now with Mute Swan, his debut album under the name.
For these new Braille releases, Sharma has turned to LA label Friends Of Friends, and has also adopted a more song-oriented approach away from the dance floor focus of earlier records. The label says Sharma "inverts hip-hop and house music influences into a deeply humanist, guest vocal-filled journey," with Jesse Boykins III, Throwing Snow, Seafloor, Olivia Sholler and Angelica Bess among his many collaborators. You can listen to Bess on first single "Better Than Nothing" below.
