- Starting next January, the electronic music blog will have a record label arm.
Astral Plane Recordings will put out its first release on January 29th.
The American website has become a reliable source for editorial and mixes from young artists in the grime and club music spheres. They've already released a few compilations, like Psychotropia, through Bandcamp. Astral Plane Recordings will mark their foray into the world of EPs with Acheron from SHALT, a York-based producer. The label calls Acheron "noise-meets-club music," and says that it was inspired by Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars series of novels. ("[The EP] is concerned with the idea of prolonging individual lives by technological and scientific means, and looking at the effects that it would have," SHALT told The Fader in a short interview.)
