- The album, inspired by soundsystem culture and an early 20th century Russian art movement, is out next month.
Spatial, AKA Matt Spendlove, will release his first album in March.
A Music Of Sound Systems is coming out on the London producer's Infrasonics label, where he's released most of his music. The album is inspired by Caribbean and UK soundsystem culture, as well as an early 20th century Russian art movement called Suprematism, which used simple geometric shapes and a restricted colour palette. Spendlove describes the album as "visceral music that inhabits a kind of architectural form... The stereo panning in the tracks hints at 3D in a similar way to the work of [Suprematist artist] Lissitzky." It's a follow-up to Spatial's Emergence series, a trilogy of EPs that came out on his label in 2015 and '16.
