- The LP consists of one recording cut over two sides of the record.
Pépé Bradock has an album called What A Mess due out on his label, Atavisme, in May.
The full-length, his first since Synthèse in 1998, is a surrealist concept album that consists of one track split across two sides. "It all started with words, and a project for an art book with a CD—acronym for Corps Diplomatiques—as a tribute to a special diplomatic elephant called Abul Abbas," the Parisian house producer told The Vinyl Factory.
His songwriting method was based on "a few mundane terms, picked randomly, then coupled with frequencies chosen in a spontaneous way for their presupposed properties or synchronicities, whether in space, orbital rhythms, colour spectrum or electromagnetic fields."
There's no tracklist for the LP. Instead, Bradock says, "I like the idea that the listener or owner of the record can freely pick the tracks' names according to his own interpretation, while listening, with the words on the back of the cover since they were used to compose the music."
It follows two EPs from last year, Exodus 8 and ATA019, both for Atavisme.
Atavisme will release What A Mess on May 11th, 2019.
