- The new LP is informed by Moeller's early love of shoegaze and indie rock.
Brendon Moeller's next album comes via Vibrant Music.
Materialize is influenced by the South African-born, US-based artist's history in rock bands in the '80s and '90s, when he was interested in "indie, shoegaze, ambient and moody, cinematic [sound]scapes," according to the press release. The album revisits those genres from Moeller's more modern techno-informed perspective and the "knowledge and experience of many years of exploration of modular synths." The label says the album strikes a balance between Moeller's techno work and his more ambient-leaning material.
In addition to releasing under his own name, Moeller has put out music as Echologist and Beat Pharmacy, and has worked in a number of collaborative projects such as Lightness (with Area) and Destination Void (with Phil Moffa & DJ Spider). Materialize is his first release on Vibrant Music, a long-running dub techno label run by Fluxion.
