  • Belgium's Horst Festival has announced its plans for a series of small events taking place this month. Running from July 17th to August 20th in Asiat, a former military site in the city of Vilvoorde, the events are being organised around the country's COVID-19 health and safety recommendations. Guests can hear DJs like DTM Funk, Fatoosan and Soumaya Phéline play as part of a bi-weekly Restaurant Club, where sets are served with dinner in a limited capacity open-roof warehouse space. The other open-air musical program is Sleepover Concerts, where artists like Lieven Martens and Zeta Lys will deliver dreamy soundscapes as the audience lies out in sleeping bags. Horst's discourse and workshop program will be split into three themes: art, architecture and music. Those wishing to attend will have to fill out an application form and pay a fee to participate and stay on-site. The Music Lab has confirmed guests like theorist and artist DeForrest Brown Jr, Outer Agency's Carin Abdulá and Pxssy Palace cofounder Nadine Artois. More names will be announced in the coming weeks. It's not confirmed if Horst will go ahead with its main festival, which was scheduled to take place September 11th to 14th of this year. "We're keeping as many options open to organize something within the given framework, which is deemed responsible and safe," say organizers.
