  • Taiko drum ensemble Kodō has collaborated with several electronic artists for a project ahead of the Olympic Games in Tokyo. The first part of Kodo Together launches on July 9th with the lead track "Shinogi," courtesy of Skream. Elkka, Equiknoxx, Rufus Wainwright and Kevin Saunderson also feature on the ten-track record. Part 2 will be revealed in the coming weeks. "Pushing the musical capabilities of taiko is not just a mission for Kodō, but also something I live by," says Kodō's Yuta Sumiyoshi. "Through these collaborations with talented artists from around the world, we hope to showcase the musical potential and possibilities of the taiko." Kodō is a 34-piece taiko performing arts ensemble based on Sado Island. They have been active since 1981. Listen to "Pawā" by Elkka & Kodō.
