Maya Jane Coles has shared details about her fifth album, Night Creature.
The UK producer wrote, produced, engineered and mixed the forthcoming project, which has been announced today along with the release of the first three singles—"Night Creature," "Survival Mode" and "Need"—dubbed a "AAA side." Vocalists Julia Stone, Lie Ning, Claudia Kane and Karin Park also appear on the record, which comes out on October 29th through Coles's I/AM/ME label.
"When it comes to my music making, I've pretty much always been a creature of the night," she explains of the album's title. "My creativity tends to work at its best during those peaceful hours when my surroundings are at a standstill and I feel completely in my own world. Then on the flip side, in the club, the night can shift into some of the most energetic and ecstatic moments in time.
The forthcoming record follows earlier releases like the 2020 EP, Would You Kill (4 Me), and her second album as Nocturnal Sunshine, Full Circle, released back in 2019.
