- Promoters LWE and Broadwick Live plan to curate 12 shows at the 55,000-square-foot space between October and December.
There are plans to open a new, vast venue in East London called The Beams.
Due to open on October 1st in the borough of Newham, the 55,000-square-foot warehouse previously belonged to UK food and beverage giant Tate & Lyle. It spans several indoor and outdoor spaces, three of which will be used by local promoters Broadwick Live and LWE as part of a 12-week programme of events.
Though the lineups are still TBA, the programme will run every Saturday from October 1st through December 17th. More information will be revealed in July. LWE and Broadwick Live previously worked together at another huge London venue, Printworks.
"We'll be featuring top-tier names and emerging talent, across various sounds, styles and genres within the broad sphere of house, techno, disco and everything that lies in between," said Ajay Jayaram, director of music at Broadwick Live. "We look forward to introducing our audiences to this exceptional new industrial setting, full of character, situated in an untouched part of London."
Like Printworks, The Beams will be a multi-use venue, hosting other cultural and commercial projects, such as photo shoots, fashion shows and exhibitions, during the week. The venue is currently in the planning-permission phase with Newham Council.
