The Bushwick venue offically opened its doors last weekend.
Bossa Nova Civic Club is back.
The opening was announced day-of last weekend, with a party featuring Juliana Huxtable, BEARCAT, Honey Dip and Devoye. Long queues snaked around the block by 9 PM, according to a DJ Mag interview with owner John Barclay.
The Bushwick club had closed indefinitely following a massive fire in an upstairs apartment that injured one building tenant and killed a dog. A crowdfunding campaign followed as well as a handful of fundraisers, and now the club is open for business as usual.
"We're looking forward to doing what we've been doing for the past decade: offering the citizens of Brooklyn and the globe mind-melting dance music, world-class cocktails and top-notch customer service with a smile and an affordable price tag seven nights a week," Barclay told DJ Mag.
