- The extended and remastered LP arrives January 27th.
DJ Shufflemaster's acclaimed 2001 album, EXP, is getting a reissue.
On January 27th, Tresor will release an extended and remastered version of Tatsuya Kanamori's 17-track debut, which presents psychedelic, percussive techno with nods to Detroit, Berlin and the UK. The reissue also includes three tracks from his Angel Gate EP, which came out in 2001, as well as new artwork from Japanese designer Sk8thing.
"I would like to show my thoughts and everything that I am through the album," Kanamori said in 2001. "If it doesn't reflect my ideas and the reasons that I live for, there is no meaning for me to create an album. Therefore, EXP doesn't contain just one theme or concept."
Originally rising to prominence through his releases on Subvoice Records in the mid-'90s, Kanamori solidified his place among Japan's premier techno pioneers with EPs on Tresor and Theory Recordings. His most recent release, Escalation, came out on his own label, Shiki Kyokai, in 2016.
