The two-part event is in collaboration with local radio station ISO Radio and harm-reduction non-profit Pieces to Pathways.
Resident Advisor is bringing its global event series RA Community Connections (RA CC) to Toronto for the first time.
Taking place next Wednesday, October 11th, at hi-fi event space Standard Time, the latest edition of RA CC will feature a harm-reduction workshop hosted by Pieces to Pathways, a peer-led harm-reduction initiative and substance use support programme housed by Breakaway Community Services.
The workshop will emphasise the importance of harm reduction within the electronic music scene, and provide tangible strategies that promoters, venue owners and partygoers can implement to create safer and more inclusive events.
This will be followed by a social gathering curated by local station ISO Radio. Jackie Spade, Playgirl and Zellers are among the artists due to perform.
Originally started in Los Angeles in 2017, RA CC relaunched in Montreal in June. There have since been editions in Copenhagen, Bogotá and Glasgow.
