- "There is now a very real risk that we will have to stop broadcasting," the radio station wrote in a statement.
Reprezent, a radio station based in London, has launched a fundraiser due to a major funding crisis.
Today, February 7th, the programme announced it needed help to survive 2024. It has showcased hundreds of emerging acts as well as provided media training and volunteering opportunities for over 20 years.
"The cost of delivering our work is now at an all-time high, while funding availability is at an all-time low," Reprezent wrote on Instagram. "Government delays have set back our charity registration application, and there is now a very real risk that we will have to stop broadcasting."
The donations will go toward a ten-week training programme, a direct-to-volunteering programme, on-air support for new presenters, development support for new artists and one-on-one mentorship for beneficiaries who are most in need. It has reached £19,070 of its £50,000 goal at the time of writing.
Reprezent is currently in the process of becoming a registered non-profit, which will allow for more private investors in the future. Those who are interested in donating can visit their Crowdfunder campaign.
