Kings of superlative electronica Depeche Mode release 'The Best Of Volume 1' compilation and a new single in November.
Hailed by Q magazine as “the most popular electronic band the world has ever known”, Depeche Mode have been making brooding electronic synth pop for the last twenty five years. They've even been dubbed “one of the coolest bands we’ve ever had” by The Sun, so you know they must be good. Dance music fans have lapped up their remixes as much as their singles with Michael Mayer, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Danny Tenaglia and James Holden having a crack at reworking their tracks.
Latest album from the trio of Dave Gahan, Andy Fletcher and Martin Gore is a Best Of collection of seventeen singles taken from eleven Depeche Mode albums released between 1981 and 2006. The album includes early eighties synth pop cuts ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ and 'People are People', nineties hits ‘Personal Jesus’ and ‘Enjoy The Silence’, ‘Precious’ and 'Suffer Well' from last year's 'Playing the Angel' plus forthcoming new single ‘Martyr’ to be released early November.
