  • Björk is bringing a new sound installation to Paris with French artist Aleph this month. "Nature's Manifesto," designed with the help of AI and music institute IRCAM, features sounds Björk and Aleph produced to evoke the calls of extinct animals blended with a spoken manifesto. The full piece clocks in at three minutes and 40 seconds. "We wanted to share [the animals'] presence in an architecture representing the industrial age, far away from nature," the pair shared in a statement. "In the veins of the escalator of the museum, known as the 'caterpillar,' we wanted to remind citizens of the raw vitality of endangered creatures." Björk announced the installation, set to run from November 20th through December 9th at Centre Pompidou, on Instagram on Tuesday (November 12th). "Nature's Manifesto" is being presented as part of the forum “Biodiversity: which culture for which future?”—it also kicks off a TBA campaign with young environmentalists, which Björk's hinted would launch soon. Much of the Icelandic artist's recent work has grappled with climate emergency, including her most recent Cornucopia tour. In 2024, she and Rosalía donated all proceeds from their single "oral" to combat open net salmon farming in Iceland. See the announcement.
