- Mosca is one of the more versatile UK producers in the game right now. The Greyhounds / Clinical Trial, the latest outing on his own Not So Much label, features two Basic Channel-indebted tracks, and is one of his deepest releases to date. "The Greyhounds" sits on the A-side. Its bassline takes ample inspiration from Maurizio's classic M5, with a similarly murky, subaquatic theme. It's fairly straightforward until just before the halfway mark, at which point the beat drops out and a series of strings are added. A beefed up kick drum returns two minutes later, but the groove never really gets going.
The flipside is a different story. "Clinical Trial" runs for almost seven minutes, but feels like it could have easily been twice as long. Steely drums and a jumpy, infectious bassline combine for a pumping groover that's not quite house, not quite techno.
