- Tale Of Us makes music for the masses. The duo tried to do otherwise with a classical LP earlier this year, but that sound is nowhere to be found on its follow up. Monument, an EP for their Afterlife label, picks up where they left off in 2015, with melodic tech house for megaclubs and festivals.
The title track is one of Tale Of Us's biggest, thanks to the vocal by the Life And Death artist Vaal. Vaal's verse on making a psychological breakthrough should be a transcendent moment for Ibiza crowds. Smooth and euphoric production only heightens the effect, moving like a glacier with deep drums and glimmering synth lines. "The Hangar" is less of a spectacle, but it still packs weight. The production is full and suspenseful, plodding through an anxious opening section before a shadowy but dramatic finale. Cue the fog machine at the drop.
