- Blockhead’s ‘Music By Candlelight’ is a downtempo, lights-out album well worth acquiring, and here Ninja have lifted two of the stand-out cuts to form the basis for an EP.
Uplifting melancholy is what ‘Sunday Séance’ is all about, a quietly majestic piano loop underpinning a childlike vocal sample and a mad harmonica. It’s all very soothing and Liverpool duo Loka provide a sublime, more expansive remix with a rush of drums.
Aesop Rock and Camu Tao contribute a new rap line to ‘Jet Son’, a couple of catchy vocal and sax melodies reinforcing a strong track, which is then presented instrumentally.
Great stuff once again from Ninja – and even if you own the album, this is recommended.
