- Paul Woolford treats us to another superb Special Request remix.
- A new Special Request remix is always a treat, and his version of Erol Alkan's 2018's "Spectrum" is no different. In Paul Woolford's hands, Alkan's cosmic original becomes a growling techno banger. The "Kaleidoscopic" title is apt, as every element twists and turns, constantly pea-cocking new colours. Woolford knows that less is more, so the melody is left to speak for itself, winding through layers of high-pitched drones and hissy hi-hats. The way the track unfurls is electric. His mix of "Spectrum" is a lesson in paying tribute to an original track while running with it in your own direction.
