- Timeless operatic drama from Arca.
- A wrenching ode to Arca's mother, "Madre" skips through centuries of musical concepts across four versions. These include pitched-up castrati cosplay and Calling Out Of Context-style cello played by Arca herself, on an instrument she destroyed immediately after the recording. On the nine-minute title track, Oliver Coates provides a soaring string arrangement worthy of Arca's timeless, hair-raising vocal. In an awestruck ode to Paul McCartney, the author Ian Leslie called "Blackbird" a tune that "distills hundreds of years of music into a song of devastating simplicity." Similarly, "Madre" looks far beyond the experimental club music timeline and hits something more elemental.
