- Glitchy meditations from Unsound's upcoming compilation.
- Unsound Festival's first-ever compilation, Intermission, is meant as a time capsule of the upheaval that defined 2020. Shanghai-based artist 33EMYBW's contribution to the album pulls from a field recording of China's porcelain capital, Jingdezhen. A gentler offering than what's typical from 33EMYBW, "The Room" represents the art of slowing down that many have mastered in quarantine. There's a wide open space throughout the track, which is intercepted by sparse and nimble drums, hyper-synthetic squeaks, and what sounds like the reverberations of a gong—a game of suspense leading to a meditative chorus of chimes.
