CFCF - Life Is Perfecto

  • An epic mix of worldly electronica and Sonic Youth-style guitars.

  • Growing up in the states, "electronica" felt like a cringe catch-all term used exclusively by the uninitiated. On "Life Is Perfecto," the first single from CFCF's new album, the Montreal artist makes a case for the E-word as a zone for genre-free creativity. It's a stunning amalgam of glitchy IDM-inflected breakbeats, pristine Postal Service-style synths and a downtuned guitar breakdown that could have appeared on Sonic Youth's Murray Street. The multi-faceted, seven-minute track is so good that it makes "electronica" less of a dirty word.
