- Drowsy dance music for a rainy spring day.
- Vancouver's wzrdryAV makes a style of music that feels rooted in the city's recent traditions: namely, analogue atmospherics, ambling drums and a generally unhurried tempo. (Imagine early Mood Hut records crossed with vaporwave for an idea). His new tape for Brighton label Accidental Meetings is split into one side of dreamy house and one side of blurry ambient, and "Amiga Lab" is my favourite track from it. It's built on a steady kick drum lope, but everything feels psychedelic and soft around the edges, synth chords melting like Salvador Dali clocks and snares echoing out across the stereo spectrum. Midnight Visions is best experienced in full, but this is a good place to start.
