- Kush Arora and King Woman guitarist Peter Arensdorf come together for crushing doom electronics.
- Anamnesis, the new EP from Kush Arora and Beneath The Ruins (Peter Arensdorf from King Woman), scratches a lot of itches: it's doom metal, it's dark ambient, it even has hints of the concrete jungle post-industrial of Raime. Over 36 minutes the duo's roaring waves of guitar and electronic noise crest and recede, with curlicues of melody twanging like a spaghetti western in slo-mo. One of the highlights is "Destiny," where the guitars roar like massive creatures waking up from a deep sleep, feeling out the vast emptiness around them. The EP is best in full, but "Destiny" is a good place to start. For fans of pivotal drone doom band Earth, rest assured Arora and Arensdorf are taking the baton and lumbering with it.
