- Stunning live jazz and electronics.
- Sam Gendel and Sam Wilkes's 2020 live record Music For Saxofone And Bass Guitar was a subtle revelation. Recorded live at two restaurants around Los Angeles, it featured two of the Southland's jazz innovators improvising with conversational din in the background. That record was a minor sensation, so the duo have gone back into their live archive and dug up more gems. The first taste of Music For Saxofone And Bass Guitar More Songs features the preternaturally talented Daniel Aged (Inc.) on bass with Gendel blowing through effects recalling Miles Davis' Get Up With It and other touchstones of deep, murky, fascinating rhythm. If you see these guys in the corner of the restaurant, put your fork down and pay attention.
