- Kedr Livanskiy released the most focused and danceable songs of her career on her last record, Your Need. If her next album Liminal Soul's lead single, "Stars Light Up," is any hint of where her priorities lie two years later, it's in her voice. Livanskiy sings with angelic fervor about being "born by stars" and "scorched by thunder" in her native Russian, while a lilting synth loop twinkles throughout. A sprinkling of hi-hats and warped vocals boost the wooziness of the low key environment. “Stars Light Up” is not a typical Livanskiy scorcher, but a slow burn through the atmosphere.
