- Hyperdub artists Jessy Lanza and Loraine James complement each other beautifully on this sneak peek of Lanza's DJ-Kicks.
- "Seven 55," the first of four new Jessy Lanza tracks from her upcoming DJ-Kicks, is also her first collaboration with Loraine James. Both artists excel in expansive production, and here that space is filled by Lanza's sugary vocals and James's snappy percussion. "Come home," Lanza pleads, from the perspective of a woman to a partner who won't commit. "Seven 55" is part pop, part club track, a meeting point Lanza has made a comfortable home over the years. Following her album standout "Running Like That" with Eden Samara, James sounds comfortable here too, which is why this track works so well—a duo in rapport.
