- Therapeutic dance music that shows how a little sample can go a long way.
- The latest serving in Fred again..'s monthly team-up series sees the Grammy-nominated producer employ the talents of I. JORDAN for a slice of riveting future garage. Fred and Jordan reportedly brainstormed "Admit It (U Don't Want 2)" during some "lovely walks down the River Thames" and over "lots of cups o' tea," presumably the opposite environment to the overflowing dance floors that "Admit It" is bound to be unleashed upon. Armed with expansive, strobing synthlines and an emotive sample from Ariana Grande's "ghostin," "Admit It (U Don't Want 2)" is a masterclass in doing a great deal with very little. It plays out like a rebirth of sorts—the more the sample urges a confession of hurt, the more sprawling and untethered the music becomes, as if to say (emotional) freedom can come from acceptance.
Update, June 28th, 2023: This piece has been updated with I. JORDAN's new artist name.
