- The return of the Hessle Audio Big Tune.
- Taking a new forked path away from the straight-up techno he was once making, Pangaea's musical journey remains fascinating. And with "Installation," a single track dropped at the precipice of festival season, he's hit another peak. The new track has the zippy charm of last year's Still Flowing Water, but it lays it on extra thick, made for festival stages—or maybe more accurately, festival afterparties. The track is based on an irresistibly catchy bassline, but the real hook comes from the chopped-up vocals, which have a vaguely Latin flavour to them, the phrasing and plosive syllables arranged in a uniquely alien way. (A friend described it as "bunbun essoesso.") Your usual R&B flip this is not. The vocals compete with a Eurodance-referencing synth lead, like a Hessle Audio edit of the Vengaboys. If you can't tell from this description already, you'll be hearing "Installation" a lot this summer.
